During a public health emergency, it is easy for stray animals to get neglected. But there are animal lovers who brave obstacles caused by restrictions put in place to stop the spread of the coronavirus to care for these animals.
Around 200 volunteers belonging to animal rights groups including Rescue Animals Sri Lanka, Adopt a Dog Sri Lanka, Dharma Voice for the Animals and Justice for Animals Sri Lanka have joined hands to ensure that stray cats and dogs doesn’t go hungry during these difficult times with volunteers cooking and serving food to animals .

On Wednesday, animals living close to the Vihara Maha Devi Park were given meals by these volunteers.
