The National Police Commission , with the permission of the National Election Commission has approved the transfer of the Directors of the Criminal Investigation Department (CID) and the Terrorism Investigation Department (TID) among 11 transfers in the Police Department effective this week.
Accordingly, CID Director W. Tillakaratne was appointed the Director, Ministerial Security Division and TID Director SSP Prasanna Alwis was appointed as the new CID director.
SSP T.G.N.W.D.Talduwa was moved out from the post of Director, Western Province Intelligence Division and appointed Director TID .
SSP H.C.A. Pushpakumara who served as the Director of the Sri Lanka Police Training College has been transferred as the Director of the Western Province Intelligence Division.
SSP D.V.P. Ajith Hesiri, who served as the Director of the Ministerial Security Division, has been transferred as the Director of the Sri Lanka Police College.
SSP K.G.L. Geetha who was in-charge of the Nugegoda police division has been appointed as the Director of the Special Investigation Unit.
SP R.M.P.N. Ratnayake who served at the Intelligence and Surveillance Unit in Nugegoda has been transferred as the Superintendent in-charge of the Nugegoda Division.
SP C.D. Gurusinghe who served as the Director of the Special Investigation Unit has been transferred to the Special Bureau.
ASP K.S.K Rupasinghe has been transferred from the Western Province (South) Motor Traffic Division to the Intelligence and Surveillance Unit of Nugegoda.
ASP B.G. De Silva Kalinga has been temporarily transferred from the Kelaniya division to the Gampaha Division.
The transfers were done on the request of Acting Inspector General of Police Chandana Wickramaratne, citing service requirements, the Police Department said in a press release.
