Five new cases of COVID-19 were confirmed yesterday (15 April)  bringing the total number of cases recorded in the country to 238, according to the Epidemiology Unit of the Ministry of Health.

The four new patients detected were under quarantine at the Punani Quarantine Centre.

Two of the patients  under treatment were  discharged yesterday bringing the total of those who have recovered to 65.

The Government Medical Officer’s Association (GMOA) in its latest COVID-19 situation report released yesterday said that  contact tracing  has shown that there are at least 3,000 persons who have been in direct contact with the 233 patients (the number confirmed by 14 April)  and there could be around 23,000 others who have been exposed through them.
