The debate on the Appropriation  Bill or 2021 wound up on Thursday after a three weeklong debate.

The  budget debate focused on the growing economic crisis in the country amidst the COVID-19 pandemic and issues relating the government's performance in its  first year in office.

MPs from all parties took part in the debate which saw heated exchanges between government and opposition lawmakers.

Here are some MPs who spoke on the last day of the debate.

Leader of the House Dinesh Gunawardena on his feet while PM Mahinda Rajapaksa looks on 
Opposition Leader Sajith Premadasa who led the criticism of the government's handling of many issues including the COVID0-19 situation
SJB MP Harin Fernando who had to once again address questions related to prior information he had of the Easter day terror attacks 
Agriculture Minister Mahindananda Aluthgamage was one of the most vociferous speakers on the Government side 
It was baptism by fire for Justice Minister Ali Sabry who had to answer to many critics on the opposition benches 
TNA MP M.A.Sumanthiran raised many issues faced by minorities in particular under the present administration 
NPP MP Vijitha Herath also took on the Govt. for falling back on many of its election promises
Field Marshal MP Sarath Fonseka helped the main opposition SJB hold the fort during several of the debates
