Fifty-eight  staff officers of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs  participated in an outbound training session in Dambulla  under a program initiated by Foreign Secretary Admiral Prof. Jayanath Colombage.

The program was held at Rangiri Aqua, an Outbound Training Centre for Social Ideology Development from 02-04 October 2020 and was organsied by the  Policy Planning and Human Resource Development Division of the Foreign Ministry.

This is the first outbound training workshop specifically designed for the staff officers of the Ministry comprising officers from the Sri Lanka Foreign Service, Administrative Service and Accountancy Service with the objective of improving teamwork capabilities, re-invigorating intra-group relations, better communication and leadership skills, the Foreign Ministry said in a press release.

"Located away from the office environment in Dambulla, the officers engaged in activities designed to improve leadership and communication skills, planning, change management, delegation and motivation with special sessions on team building concepts, team psychology, emotional intelligence for work life balance and meditation," the Ministry said.

It added that each session was conducted using comprehensive outbound training methods.
