U.S. State Secretary Michael Pompeo visited the St. Anthony’s Shrine at Kochchikade before his departure from Colombo after his brief visit here.
“ I laid a wreath at the Shrine of St. Anthony, one of the sites of the 2019 #EasterAttacks which killed and injured hundreds of innocent people. We stand with the Sri Lankan people and the world to defeat violent extremism and bring perpetrators to justice, “Pompeo said on Twitter after his visit.
He told reporters earlier in the day that he was visiting the Shrine in honour of all those killed in the terrorist attack including five U.S citizens.
