The Sri Lanka Air Force (SLAF) has commenced a program to disinfect 29 railway stations located along the railway track from Ragama to Chilaw . Members of the Chemical, Biological, Radiology, Nuclear and Explosive  wing of the Sri Lanka  Air Force take part in the exercise which also includes disinfecting trains.

The team is  led by Wing Commander Nilendra Perera  with the disinfection program commencing daily  at 6.30 p.m. and ending  around  2 a.m.
