The Chemical Biological Radiological Nuclear and Explosive (CBRNE) Wing of the Sri Lanka Air Force (SLAF) conducted disinfecting operations for 236 crew members of a Dutch Ship docked at the Galle Harbour who arrived yesterday (3 May ) to the Mattala Rajapaksa International Airport on a special aircraft from the Netherlands.

They are the replacement crew for a Dutch Ship which is docked at the Galle Harbour.

On the instructions of the Commander of the Air Force, Air Marshal Sumangala Dias, a special CBRNE Team led by Wing Commander Nilendra Perera, the Commanding Officer of the SLAF CBRNE Wing conducted the operations. During the operation, all 236 crew members, their belongings and the aircraft that they arrived in were disinfected by the CBRNE Team, SLAF said in a press release.

Another  53 Dutch personnel who left the  island on the same aircraft last night were also disinfected by the SLAF CBRNE Team before their departure.
